Neogen Dermalogy Bio-Peel Gauze Peeling – Lemon

I should have used this peeling pad looong time ago! I love facial scrubs and exfoliants – and I’d be honest that sometimes I overdo it! Now, this pad is a cross between an exfoliator and a deep-skin cleanser.

Each tub contains 30 pads that are soaked in this concoction of lemon fruit extracts, lactic acid, glycolic and a whole bunch of botanical extracts such as orange, papaya, grapefruit, grape and soybean seed. It works to even-out the skin tone and improve the skin’s texture.

I use the gritty textured side of the pad to gently exfoliate my skin and the softer quilted side to remove and wipe off remaining facial debris then rinse.

The gritty side of the pad. Use this side to exfoliate the skin.

The quilted soft side of the pad is used to wipe-off the removed dead skin and debris.

What I like about this pad is that it manually and chemically remove dead skin cell and it has instant visible results.  I like that it smoothens my skin and makes it look clearer and brighter.

There are two more variants of Bio-Peel Guaze Peeling – that would be the Wine, which has resveratrol (and I heard that it really smells like wine!) and the Green Tea, which is perfect to those with sensitive skin.

Now, although this pad exfoliates and removes nasty stuff on the face doesn’t mean that it is meant to be used as a cleanser. It should be used after removing make up and cleansing. It should also be rinsed –off with warm water. The formula of the serum is sticky and if left on the skin, it will be very uncomfortable and down-right disgusting! I mean, you just removed a bunch of dead skin, right?! Wash it off!

Neogen Bio-Peel Peeling Pads doesn’t contain any parabens, sulfates and phthalates. It is also cruelty free.

ENS Jin Jung Sung Soothing Moisture Skin Essence

Jin Jung Sung means integrity, authenticity and sincerity in Korean. Just with the name itself, this brand focuses on producing not just good – but superior quality products for its consumers.

The ingredient list of this essence is pretty lengthy BUT it is jam packed full of the things that I look for from a good skincare product. Here are a few of the notable ingredient that caught my attention:

1. Niacinamide – Helps manage acne, pigmentation issues and wrinkles

2. Glycerin, Meadow Foam Seed Oil, Apricot Kernel Oil, Botanical Aqualene, Beeswax, Sodium Hyaluronate, Shea Butter, Ceramide-3 and Allantoin – all of these works as great moisturizing agents.

3. Adenosine – Skin restoring agent. It works to improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles making it look smoother and younger.

Here is the full ingredients list:

purified water, butylene glycol, 1,2-hexanediol, niacinamide, hydrolyzed collagen, beta-glucan, hydrogenated lecithin, sodium hyaluronate, glycyrrhiza glabra (licorice) root extract, sesamum indicum seed extract, angelica root extract, deoxynojirimycin, phellinus extract, paeony root extract, polygonum multiflorum root extract, scutellaria baicalensis root extract, sophora flavescens root extract, cimicifuga racemosa root extract, glycine, leucine, alanine, lysine, arginine, tyrosine, phenylalanine, valine, threonine, proline, isoleucine, histidine, methionine, cysteine, ficus carica (fig) fruit extract, pomegranate extract, morus alba fruit extract, ginkgo seed extract, undaria pinnatifida extract, laminaria digitata extract, ceramide np, acetyl hexapeptide-8, glycerin, glutamic acid, aspartic acid, caprylic/capric tryglyceride, propanediol, glycereth-25 pca isostearate, polyglyceryl-10 laurate, octyldodecanol, caprylyl glycol, polyglyceryl-10 olivate, carbomer, tromethamine, ethylhexylglycerin, adenosine, disodium edta, fragrance

The packaging is very simple, clean and beautiful. The bottle is made of frosted glass and it is quite heavy. It is also sealed well and the expiration date of the product is stamped on the bottom of the bottle.

The essence is clear, thick and slightly viscous.  It contains fragrance and the scent is a mix of fruity florals.  It is a bit sweet smelling for my liking and it lingers for a few minutes before it completely disappears.  Skin absorption is fast and quick, no stickiness or greasiness left on the surface of the skin. It dries to a soft silky finish.

I am a bit picky when it comes to scented and fragrance laden skincare products. I do not mind scents as long as it is not overbearing to the senses. Although this essence has it, it is mild and it is something that I can forego. Also, most of the time, fragrance causes my skin to dry but in this case, it did not – perhaps because of the combination of moisturizing ingredients that it contains.

I find that this essence gives my skin and extra layer of moisture without over-doing it. I also discovered that it is a good go-to “moisturizer” when the weather is unforgivingly hot! Since it is summer now, I just apply this essence and top it with sunscreen then I am good to go! No icky feeling of layering too much product.

Barulab 7 in 1 Total Solution Black Clay Mask

A mud mask in sheet form, this mask eliminates the messy experience of applying and removing wash-off masks. I mean let’s face it – we have been spoiled with the ease of using rinse-free sheet masks that using a wash-off becomes a bit laborious.

The mask comes in 2 parts – one that covers the eye area and the other covers the jaw. Both masks are sandwiched between 2 plastic backings. The sheet is very thin (yet very strong) and smeared with mud mask. There is no essence – only mud.

I honestly did not follow the instructions in terms of application. I applied the lower part first instead of the top part. I guess it doesn’t really make a difference but then it’s always good to follow instructions!

This mask sticks to the face right away making it a bit hard to tug and adjust.  Fit wise, it is very good.

This mask promises to clean out the pores by removing extra sebum and dead skin cells. It also improves the tone and texture of the skin. Aside from that, it also nourishes the skin.

Notable ingredients include volcanic ash and charcoal. It does have fragrance in its ingredients.

I kept the mask on for more than 20 minutes – I lost track of time! By then, the mask was already dry – similar to the old school mud mask. I peeled off the mask and gave my face a quick rinse to remove some of the black smears. It wasn’t really messy at all. Results were pretty good too. It left my skin looking brighter and very supple to the touch.

Is it better than the traditional mud mask? 100% yes! Why? If you like a mess-free application, then this is your go to mask. My only qualm is the amount of packaging it has but I then those extra backings were essential in keeping the shape and form of the mask.

Ok, super late post but I HAVE to post it because my experience at the Fab Fit Fun Summer House was memorable and more than amazing!

I found out about the Summer House event through an email I received from Fab Fit Fun. I, was not a member of the subscription service when I received the email. It was an invitation to attend the event - it was not free, in fact the invite was more like an invitation to buy the ticket to the event.

Foreo brand experience where you get to try their products while chilling in this very comfortable outdoor lounge.

Generation Clay Set up. They were giving away 3 full size tubes of their popular facial mud mask line plus a very hip holographic belt bag.

The ticket is not expensive - around $80 (more or less) but it includes access to everything! And I mean everything - brand activation, experience, workout even snack, booze and lunch. Plus you get to build your own Fab Fit Fun box containing 8 full sized products ranging from make-up, skincare and lifestyle items such as sunglasses and bags.

Trading Post - where you get to build your own box!

This was a money free event. Nothing needs to be purchased - ideally. Although I saw some people pull out their credit cards to purchase some stuff from one of the brand exhibit. Other than that, everything was free!

Grace and Stella's DIY flower crown or bouquet.

My very own flower crown! :)

Here are some of the things that I got from the event:

My personalized FFF box.

Generation Clay Freebies!

I actually received a lot of free stuff from each of the participating brands but unfortunately, I failed to take photos before putting it all away in the beauty bins.

All in all, the Fab Fit Fun Summer House 2019 was a huge success! I really wish that I get to be invited again next year.

Ok, super late post but I HAVE to post it because my experience at the Fab Fit Fun Summer House was memorable and more than amazing! ...

Yes, Bergamot! If there is something that I like about Whamisa is that it makes use of bergamot oil fruit oil in most of its products. This citrusy (very energizing) fruit smells amazing! It reminds me of Earl Grey tea - yummy and very refreshing!

I may not like perfume (or fragrance) as an ingredient in a skincare product but I will definitely not pass on something that contains natural scents. I find that synthetic fragrances when mixed to skincare make my skin dry. However, if it is derived from natural ingredients such as plant and fruit extracts then it doesn’t give me that negative result.

This facial mist doesn’t contain water! Gasp! So what does it have? It uses aloe leaf extracts as its base plus a bunch of botanical extracts.

Little things matters! This medium sized spray bottle contains 80 ml of liquid. Not too small to be called a travel-size but definitely enough to be travel friendly. Inside the bottle has 2 olive leaves; a cute and dainty detail that imbibes the whole olive + organic theme.
Another awesome thing about this is the actual spray – it had a good, even and well dispersed spritz. I did not end up having a big blob of liquid on one part of my face. It’s well designed!

I use the Olive Leaf Mist as a toner and on top of my make-up. I find it very refreshing and hydrating on the skin. It is a nice pick-me-up mist in the middle of a hot day too!
Whamisa believes in preserving the benefits of natural ingredients. All its products are natural, vegetarian (and some vegan) and not tested on animals.

This sheet mask is part of the Blanc Therapy mask set which has 6 different mask variant.

The mask is made of tencel cupra farbric which can absorb moisture better than cotton. It is also lightweight and very soft. The fit is good too!

The essence is clear and a bit viscous. It has a faint honey scent. The star ingredient in this mask is honey. It works as a natural antibacterial agent and treats skin conditions such as acne. It also contains antioxidants which work to slow down signs of aging.

I kept the mask on for a good 30 minutes. It left my skin well moisturized without tackiness.

Elemis Superfood Vital Veggie Mask

I got this mask form this month’s Boxycharm. This wipe-off mask is jam packed with vitamins and minerals from wheatgrass, kale, nettle, avocado, chia seed oils and passionfruit. It moisturizes and improves the condition of the skin by making it softer, smoother and more radiant.

I applied a thin layer of this mask on my skin. The texture is very smooth and it has pleasant and very clean scent. The product is not opaque like a mud mask; in fact it is more like a thinned cream. I was expecting a slight tingling (it was stated in the label) but I did not feel any. I kept the mask on for 10 minutes and wiped it off with a damp cloth.

Impressive! No wonder a lot of people are raving about this mask. It really makes the skin look nourished and more supple to the touch. Since it is also a wipe-off mask, it definitely gave my skin an extra boost of moisture.
Boxy Charm is a monthly beauty subscription service. It features 4-5 full sized products. The cost of subscription is $21 and that already includes shipping. The value of the entire box is more than triple the amount of the subscription.  Brands included are more on the higher scale making this box one of the most inexpensive way to try fancy cosmetics and skincare items.

The theme this month is Au Natural

It features natural skin care and earth inspired colors in make-up.

As always, this month has 5 full sized items.

Here are the items in the box:

Here is a closer look:

Elemis
Superfood Vital Veggie Mask
MSRP: $35

Luxie
Gaea 3 Piece Brush Set
MSRP: $30

Alamar Cosmetics
Mother of Pearl Gloss
MSRP: $10

Butter London
Natural Goddess Eyeshadow Palette
MSRP: $32

My two favorites in this month's box are hands down the Elemis mask and the Butter London Palette! The mask looks really good the the palette's colors are beautiful and wearable for everyday look.

On a side note, I am really grateful that there are subscription boxes such as Boxycharm. If it were not for Boxycharm, I wouldn't be able to try (let alone own) these amazing (and expensive) products! I have discovered a lot of products through this subscription service. Yes, there are months when the stuff are not so good but most of the time, it is a win.

ALSO, if you still don't know, #BCinSession is FINALLY happening this coming October in Los Angeles! Go grab your tickets now! I bet it's gonna be a lot of fun. :)
