Soapbox Soaps
Soapbox is a body care and hair care brand that has one
simple yet noble goal: give hope. The product line of Soapbox is small and
simple – shampoo, conditioner, bar soap, body wash and hand soap. Variants
includes (but not limited to) coconut oil, argan, bamboo, tea tree, sea
minerals & blue iris. For each item purchased, Soapbox donates a bar of
soap to those in need and they also provide proper hygiene education. This I
believe is the most important part of the outreach – educating people about
hygiene. Poverty is not just about the inaccessibility to the basic necessities
of life; it is also about lacking access to the simplest form of education. By
providing the tools and equipping the poor with knowledge about proper hygiene, their quality of life will
definitely improve. Some forms of sickness will be avoided by just washing
hands. Simple act such as this can make a big impact in a many poverty stricken
communities around the world.

has already been changed and touched by Soapbox donations.
Coconut Oil Shampoo and Conditioner
Growing up in the Philippines, coconut oil had a big role in my diet
and even skincare. Most sticky rice desserts are infused
with coconut oil or cooked in coconut milk. I remember how we would boil the
thick coconut milk until the oil separates from the curd. I would wait for the
hot oil to cool down a bit and apply the sweet-nutty goodness on my hair and
scalp. That was my version of DIY hot oil back then.
That is why I am very excited to try Soapbox Coconut Oil Shampoo and
Conditioner. It’s just like a flashback to my years in Manila – only this time,
I don’t have to extract the oil myself!
The reason why Coconut is very popular in skincare is because it is
known to be amazing when it comes to moisturizing the skin and hair. It nourishes
and provides vitamins E and K as well fatty acids which repairs the skin (and
hair). In Southeast Asia, Coconut is also used to treat hair and skincare
problems because it is naturally antibacterial and anti fungal.
My Hair Condition
I have dry and damaged hair. If the shampoo and conditioner doesn’t work
for me, it makes my hair look drier. I would definitely have tangles and fly-away’s
if my hair is tied on a pony tail.
Coconut Oil Shampoo
This shampoo smells like sweet coconut! The scent is not too strong,
just good enough to get a good tropical spa like feel while showering. It
moisturizes my hair well without stripping it of moisture.
Coconut Oil Conditioner
Just like the shampoo this conditioner also smells like sweet coconut. It
immediately works on smoothening hair strands upon application. It also leaves my hair looking silky (less fly-aways) and
fresh.
