Product Feature: Ah Organic Skin Care
The skin is the biggest organ in the human body and it is the one thing
that is most subjected to chemicals and abuse. Everything that we put on our
skin get absorbed and incorporated in our entire system, therefore, it is only
important that we take notice on the kinds of products we apply on our skin.
As a product reviewer for the past two years, I have tried several
organic skincare brands. I have to admit that my reason why I am apprehensive
in using organic skincare is the scent – most smells to ‘organic’ – which means
pungent for me. Barely have I used a product that is completely unscented or at
least naturally pleasant in terms of scent.
I was given a chance to review Ah Organic Skincare, a brand from the UK
that is now available in the US. It is founded by Andrea Hutchins. AH Skincare
products are handmade and are 85% organic and contain high quality ingredients.
All formulas are pH balanced as well. AH skincare line is free from parabens,
sulphates, mineral oil, petroleum bi-products, lanolin, animal bi-products and
any animal testing.
I tested five beautiful products: Skin Brightening Radiance Cleanser,
Skin Brightening Toner, Skincare Treatment Pro Age Night Serum, Tomato and
Carrot Day & Night Moisturizer and Body Care Co-Q10 Body Lotion.
Skin Brightening Radiance Cleanser
This is a pure plant cream cleanser that has fruit extracts which helps
to brighten the skin and even out blemishes. Notable fruit extracts include
Papaya, Strawberry and Cranberry. This cleanser is rich in Vitamin A, E and C.
What I love about this cleanser is that it does not dry out the skin. It
is very creamy and lathers well. In fact, a little amount goes a long way. I
enjoy cleaning my face with this cleanser because it smells light and clean.

Skin
Brightening Witch Hazel Toner
This toner
removes excess oil and impurities on the skin, thus completing the cleansing
process. Notable ingredients are Witch Hazel which has anti-inflammatory and
antimicrobial properties and Camphor White which stimulates circulation.
It comes in
a spray type bottle and can be used as daily toner or skin refresher. It can
also be used to set make-up! This toner feels very good and refreshing on the
skin. It also does not have any alcohol scent and the Witch Hazel scent is very
minimal. It also does not leave any tight feeling on the skin.
Ingredients: Aqua, Hamamelis virginiana (Witch
hazel) & alcohol, Hydrolysed oats, Vegetable glycerin, Polysorbate 20,
Potassium sorbate, Sodium benzoate, Sodium ascorbyl phosphate (Vitamin C),
Allantoin, Aloe barbadensis leaf powder (Aloe vera), Cinnamomum camphora
(Camphor white essential oil), Phenoxyethanol.
Skin Care
Treatment Pro Age Night Serum
This serum
is for preventative care and damage control. It repairs cell damage and returns
the skin’s healthy glow.

The
consistency of this serum is thick unlike other serums that are watery and
thin. This opaque, off-white serum holds a small dollop shape. It is lightly
scented.
Initial
application is sticky but disappears once absorbed by the skin leaving a
velvety smooth finish.

Tomato and
Carrot Day and Night Moisturizer
This
moisturizer works as an anti-aging, pore refining and shine reducing product.
It can be used both day and night. It has natural SPF which protects the skin
from the sun. Notable ingredient includes tomato extract and carrot extract.
This moisturizer is rich in vitamin A,C and E.
The texture
is very smooth and creamy. It has a consistency similar to a body lotion. I
think that this moisturizer is unscented because I barely sniffed any sort of
parfum. Well, if I am wrong, then perhaps the parfum is very minimal. It smells
very clean and crisp. It is also not heavy on the skin. It applies light and it
is easily absorbed. It also did not make my skin oily throughout the day.
Body Care Co-Q10 Body Lotion
Paraben Free lotion. It has Co-Q10 which
prevents and fills up wrinkles and fine lines. We are so into preventing facial
wrinkles and neglect everything else below the neck. The chest, arms and
specially hands get all wrinkly too!
Co-Q10 energises the skin. It also protects
the skin against the damaging effects of photo-ageing (hello sunspots!). As we
age, our skin’s ability to rid of toxins slows down causing it to look sallow
and wrinkly. Co-Q10 stimulates cell activity and rejuvenates the skin. It boost
collagen production and protects the skin from against oxidative damage.
So, what do I think about this
lotion? I love it! It has a light sweet, earthy scent that reminds me of
the tropics – particularly coconuts! It is very pleasant. It moisturized and
hydrated my skin – including my dry elbows, knees and heels. It feels very luxurious
on the skin.
