I wear make-up everyday and it is important for me to remove every single bit at the end of the day. I was introduced to oil based make-up remover about three years ago. I remember trying Boscia for the first time and I was really impressed on how easily it removed my make-up.  Ever since then, I have been trying several different brands of oil based make up remover.

While scrolling through my Instagram, I stumbled upon the brand Jane Scrivner. I got curious with what their brand offer and decided to reach out to them.  They were very kind to have responded to my email.  They also sent me this award winning product called NOURISHING CLEANSER. It won the BEAUTY SHORTLIST Awards 2017 for  'Best Cleansing Balm' AND 'Best Cleanser 40+'. How awesome is that?!

Nourishing Cleanser is in a balm form. It has a beautiful golden yellow color and has a very rich, thick velvety texture that immediately melts upon contact to the skin.  It also has a relaxing lavender scent that is most welcoming for me. It also comes with a white soft wash cloth that is made of 100% cotton.

According to the instructions, I just have to apply a pea sized amount of the balm on to my skin.  But, before I went on to try the balm; I first submerged the washcloth into warm water. Using my fingers as my tool, I worked the balm on my entire face – concentrating more on my eye area. Next step is to use the washcloth (wring it first!) – I gently wiped the soft washcloth on my face to completely remove the remaining dirt and grime. I followed it up by soaking the washcloth (it would be nice to rinse it first) in cold water and then gently patted it on my skin.  Tadah! Clean face!

This cleansing balm works! Another bonus is the entire cleansing process – it’s very relaxing! The scent and texture of the balm plus the luxuriousness of the cotton washcloth makes this chore more like a ritual.  I love it!

Aside from using this balm as a cleanser, it can also be used as a night mask. Just apply a thin layer of the balm on to the skin.  No need to rinse!

Water is the most underused but highly effective cleanser in the world. It cleanses the skin and the body both inside and out. That is the most important compound in our lives and it is the most essential thing that we need to line, survive and function. Since most beauty products comprise of 60% water, it is important that the source and the quality of it must be as pure as possible.

The word Mizu is Japanese for water.
I was given a chance to review two amazing Mizu Botanicals products. First is the Vitamin C & Collagen Serum and the next one is the Vitamin C Mask.

Vitamin C is a very popular ingredient in skincare – specially for products that are formulated for mature skin. It has brightening and whitening properties that target tired and sun damaged skin. It lightens sun spots and improves the overall texture of the skin.

Mizu Vitamin C and Collagen Serum

The formula of this serum is amazing! It is easily absorbed by the skin and immediately makes the skin looks refreshed. Active ingredients includes Vitamin C Peptide, Plant derived Collagen, Green Tea Extract  and Vitamin E. It is just like food for the skin. I feel the difference - it definitely nourished my skin.

This serum has a very thick consistency and can hold and retain a perfectly dome shaped drop. I did not recognize any strong scent and if there was, I guess it is unnoticeable.

Mizu Vitamin C Mask

This is one of my favorite wash-off masks in the market. Applying this is heaven! It has a wonderful citrusy scent that is both relaxing and invigorating. The formula works well on my skin. It immediately moisturized and brightened my skin. It also did not have any negative after feel – no stickiness, oiliness or tackiness left on my skin.  It has a thick consistency and has bits and pieces of soft fruit peels.

I also like the after feel of using both of these products. Most products make my skin oily the next day but Mizu skincare did not mess up my skin. My t-zone did not get oily and I did not develop any rashes or pimples.

I highly recommend Mizu Botanicals products especially to those who are into organic and plant based skincare system.

This is the first time that I have ever encountered Salmon Oil based skin care product. I am familiar with snail and other special herbs but I seriously have never tried anything like this. I was a bit apprehensive at first – expecting the cream to be strange in terms of texture and scent. Well I was proved wrong. This moisturizer is seriously good.

Let me start off with how cute the packaging is: the design is just like that of a can of salmon and inside is a beautiful golden jar containing the actual product. It also comes with a small plastic spatula.

This moisturizer has five special ingredients:
Alaska Salmon Oil – Has Vitamins A and B, Omega-3 and fatty acids. It also has Vitamin E. These properties have anti-oxidants that protect the skin from free radicals. It also keeps the skin healthy, resilient and moisturized.

L22 – It is a lipid complex of Macadamia seed oil, Jojoba, Squalene, Phytosterols, Phytosteryl and etc.

Caviar Extract – Essential to skin hyrdration.  It provides nutrients that moisturize the skin.

Salmon Egg Extract – It has Vitamin E. It has anti-oxidant properties. It also keeps the skin elastic and moisturized.

Seaweed Extracts – Makes the skin soft and moisturized.

Moisturizer:
This moisturizer has a very rich and velvety texture. It has a very light pink color as well as a very faint floral scent that is not at all over powering. In fact, the scent is clean and it does not linger.

Once applied, the cream goes on smoothly to the skin. Its rich texture is very luxurious and it also easily absorbed by the skin. It does not leave the skin oily, greasy and sticky.

I am happy with this moisturizer. It definitely is a luxury in a jar.

The texture and the scent is a major factor for me – as it is any skin care and bathing routine must be relaxing, rejuvenating and at the same time refreshing.

I was given a chance to try and test 2 products and 4 different blends.  I received a body scrub in Rejuvenate and 3 body oils in Soothe, Happiness and Tone.

Rejuvenate Body Scrub

This body scrub is pure heaven. The granules are just the right size – not too big nor too small. It is not abrasive at all. It scrubbed off all the dead skin leaving it smooth. I honestly enjoyed using this scrub. It smells amazing! The oil also made my skin look bright and polished.
