10 Things to Do Before Going to Beautycon LA

As a third time attendee, I pretty much have an idea on
what to expect and do when I get to the LA Convention center on August 12. So,
here is a rundown of survival must haves for a nice and comfortable experience.
Let me lay it out there, this list of for those who has GA tickets and are only
interested in hauling as much product as they can. So here it is:
1. Activate your wristband. Yes, upon receiving your wristband you must
go online and activate it. The last thing you want to happen is to get close to
the door only to scramble on your phone to register. Activating your wristband
will ensure a smooth flow of entry to the event.
2. Wear comfortable shoes and clothes. There will be lines. Long and
insane lines. So please, do your toes a favor and wear something comfortable.
Also, you may find yourself squatting and sitting on the floor so wear
something that will let you move without showing your crack.

3. Bring a small bottle of water. There will be water station inside
the venue. Believe me, it gets hot in there.
4. Bring a powerbar or granola bar. There will be food outside the
venue but, hey, you don’t want to lose precious time right? You only have 6
hours to get as much loot as you can. Be ready when hunger pangs hit – have something
to eat inside your bag.

4. Bring a cute reusable shopping bag. Beautycon will not give you a
bag to stash your goodies. Some brands may give you but just be ready. Make
sure the bag you bring is big enough for a good hail. Also, make sure that
there are no holes and rips on the bag.
5. Bring a power bank and your
charger. There will be a charging
station at Beautycon but once again, you do not want to lose your precious
time. With a powerbank, you can charge anytime you want – even when you are
waiting in line. Remember, you will be using your phone the whole time!
6. Wear make-up. Do not fall for the make-over services. You will lose
time! Make-overs has a separate line and it usually takes about an hour from
line to the actual application. Just wear make-up before heading to Beautycon.
You will be taking a lot of selfies so make sure you are beauty ready!
7. Have a game plan. Know the brands that are participating and note
which ones you want to visit first. Also, be friendly and don’t be shy to ask
other attendees about what other brands are giving out – it is the only way for
you to eliminate ‘not worth it’ brands and prioritize the ones that are handing
good stuff. You do not want to spend 1
hour in line to get one small sachet of lotion if you can line up for the same
amount of time and get a full size product.

8. Follow participating products on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook
because for sure you will be asked to do that before getting your free product.

9. Download the Beautycon app. I honestly don’t know how good this app
is going to be but for sure it will be helpful during the event.
10. Come on time. There is really no point to get in line at 7:00AM
but it would be good to get there at least 2 hours before. Make sure you eat a
good heavy breakfast too!
