MishiBox is a Korean beauty monthly subscription box.

It offers a combination of 4-6 deluxe and full-sized Korean beauty products each month. Subscription is $19.95 per month with free shipping.  They also offer an annual subscription rate of $239.40. This is the easiest and most affordable way to try and test Korean beauty brands.

Each box contains a card describing all the items in the box.  It also gives the instructions on  how to use the products.  This is very helpful since most labels and how to's are written in Korean.

Here is this month's box:

There really is no banner theme for Mishibox, instead it usually has a set idea that makes all the items complement each other. For this month, focus is on sun safety. It's just like agetting a complete sun care kit!

Here is a closer look of the items:

Healavie
Soft Cover Water Drop Sun Gel
Retail: 21

This perhaps is my favorite in the bunch. I am already a fan of this product and I am more than happy to have another tube to last me this summer. This very light sunscreen has spf 50+++ rating for for both UVA and UVB rays. It is highly moisturizing and it also gives the skin a velvety smooth finish without any white cast.

Holika Holika
Aloe 99% Soothing Gel
Retail: $6

This moisturizer is very lightweight and refreshing to the skin. It contains 99% aloe vera harvested from Jeju Island.

Choonee
Water Lip Tint Balm
Retail: $10

Summer is not really the time for a full thick make-up. This lovely tint balm gives a beautiful light and sheer pop pf color while moisturizing the lips.

Missha
Airy Fit Mask
Variant: Aloe
Retail: $2

This mask is 50% lighter than regular mask and is designed to stick on to the skin like mochi. How fun is that?!

Chamos
Moisture Elastic W-Line Breast Pack
Retail: $3

I have never used a breast pack before - so this is really very new to me. This hydrogel mask is designed to moisturize and plump the skin .

All in all the total value of this month's Mishibox is $42. It is double the amount of subscription which is not really spectacular. I hope that Mishibox will work on the value of products in their boxes. The sheet masks are great but is not really something that adds up to the worth of the box. Perhaps instead of giving one mask, they can give 2 or 3 (like Ipsy) of the same product.

Hello Skin Jumiso  Water-Splash Mask

I have been eyeing this mask for quite some time now. I adore the cute packaging and I have heard tons of good stuff about it! That’s why I bought bunch of it when I saw it available at the Beautycon LA event this weekend.
This mask is made of 100% pure cotton making it highly absorbent and very soft. It is very thin and well drenched in a faint floral scented essence. The shape of the mask is protected by a mesh backing, making it easy to unfold and apply on the face. The fit is pretty good – it covers my whole face up to my jaw line. The holes are cut big enough to keep the essence from touching the eye area and lips. The mask has the ability to hold a lot of essence, hence no drips and mess.

Notable ingredients of this mask includes marine complex (algae and seaweed) shea butter, ceramide complex, and 3 hyaluronate complex which all aids in total and complete skin hydration.
I chose to use this mask after a long day at Beautycon. I was tired and my skin looks dead!

I stuck the mask in the fridge for a few minutes to give it an extra cooling effect. I kept the mask on for 20 minutes. I really enjoyed using the mask due to its luxurious feel on the skin. It is very lightweight and pleasantly scented. After removing the mask, my skin feels very soft and smooth to the touch. It also looks plumper, more hydrated and relaxed. My skin also looks brighter too.  There is also no sticky or greasy after feel – which is good! I love it and definitely hoarding a bunch more of this!

Leegeehaam Grow Tea Tree 70 BHA Toner

Although I am a big fan of Tea Tree for its anti-bacterial, antiseptic, anti fungal and anti inflammatory properties, I am still wary about using it due to its strong alcohol like scent. I usually use it as a spot treatment whenever I have a zit or two. I know that masks containing tea tree doesn’t smell as bad as the actual essential oil – this, I use too.

What I love about Leegeehaam Grow Tea Tree 70 BHA Toner is that it was able to harvest the power of tea tree without its malodorous scent. In fact, this toner, which promises to hydrate and sooth soothe skin as well as unclog pores; is very gentle and refreshing. This toner is also free from parabens, synthetic dyes and fragrances, alcohol and mineral oil.

I used this toner for a week when my hormones were creating havoc on my skin. My skin condition was a bit oily (I normally have combo skin) and I had small breakouts on my chin area. This toner minimized the oiliness of my skin and tamed down the redness of my irritated chin. My zits did not blossom into a flow blown mega pimple, instead, it dried pretty fast.  My skin looks fresher, brighter and clearer.

Many Brazilian creams have a secret ingredient: guaraná, a native Amazonian plant whose fruit contains one of the most potent forms of caffeine on the planet. Brazilian Bum Bum Cream is also powered by a Brazilian blend of extraordinarily nourishing cupuaçu butter, antioxidant powerhouse açaí, and super-conditioning coconut oil for irresistible, touch-me skin. The fast-absorbing texture contains just enough mica to add a perfect Brazilian glow, as the formula helps your body look and feel its smoothest and tightest. Pistachio caramel leaves skin delicately fragranced. (Grabbed from Sephora.com)

Calithea is an organic skincare line that is 100% authentically Greek. Inspired by the founder’s Greek heritage, Calithea utilizes ancient Greek beauty secrets and recipes in its formula. Star ingredients include Olive Oil, Donkey Milk and Honey. These three ingredients have been used in Greek health and beauty regimen since time in memorial. Hence, it is tried, tested and proven by hundreds of generations.

Olive Oil Soap

A good skincare regimen starts with a good cleansing soap. Best used, everyday, this soap is non-drying and highly moisturizing. Olive oil which is packed with vitamins and minerals is known for its amazing skincare prowess. It has long been used as moisturizer for both face and body.

This soap is also free of parabens, silicones, propylene glycol, paraffin oil, allergens, phthalates, synthetic dyes, alcohol, ethanolamine and GMOs.

Olive Oil with Donkey Milk Soap

This soap is ideal for dry and sensitive skin. It also works best for people suffering from psoriasis and eczema because the Donkey Milk that is infused in the soap soothes and calms itchiness and redness. I have small patches of eczema on my stomach and buttocks. I used this soap on the affected areas and it really did not make my eczema flare up or itch after using it. This soap is also highly moisturizing. The scent is amazing too – very mild and clean.

Soap is free of parabens, silicones, propylene glycol, paraffin oil, allergens, phthalates, synthetic dyes, alcohol, ethanolamine and GMOs.

Olive Oil with Shea Butter and Oatmeal Soap
If you want to stick to a common yet tried and tested soap formula, then this one is for you – packed with all the things moisturizing: Olive Oil, Shea Butter and Oatmeal, this soap moisturizes the skin to the maximum! It leaves the skin hydrated and soft to the touch.

Soap is free of parabens, silicones, propylene glycol, paraffin oil, allergens, phthalates, synthetic dyes, alcohol, ethanolamine and GMOs.

Olive Oil Day Cream

I have an intense evening regimen but usually, my morning routine is simple – facial wash, moisturizer and sunscreen. I do not like heavy and oily moisturizer in morning because I for sure, my skin would end up looking like an oil slick by midday.

I used this day cream in the morning right after cleansing. I allowed it to be absorbed by the skin before I applied a small amount of foundation. The cream soaked in very well without leaving any oily film on the skin. It also did not make my skin look and feel oily throughout the day.

This facial cream notable ingredient includes organic Olive oil, honey, carob and Aloe vera. It is also free of parabens, silicones, propylene glycol, paraffin oil, phthalates, synthetic dyes, alcohol, ethanolamine and GMOs.

Donkey Milk Body Lotion

Donkey Milk is everywhere …it has invaded the skincare industry because it is proven to create wonders on the skin. Donkey milk contains casein, lactose, vitamins A, B1, B2, B6, D and E. It also has quadruple the amount of vitamin C than regular cow’s milk.  It hydrates and nourishes the skin gently. It is also perfect for those who have skin allergies or conditions.

Calithea's Olive Oil & Donkey Milk Body Lotion is free of parabens, silicones, propylene glycol, paraffin oils, allergens, phthalates, synthetic dyes, alcohol, ethanolamine and GMO.

Cleansing Milk

This cleanser contains Olive oil and Babassu. Babassu is an emollient that balances the natural oils of the skin. It is also rich in vitamin E which is effective in skin’s healing.

This cleanser is best for those with dry and sensitive skin. It has a non-drying formula which leaves the skin soft and supple to the touch.

Olive Oil Facial Toner

Toners are important because it preps the skin for the absorption of moisturizer. It also rids the skin of the tiniest dirt imaginable (just look at your cotton after applying toner). However, harsh toners can do more harm than good that is why it is best to really look for something gentle yet effective.

Calithea toner is infused with the liquid gold – Olive oil. It balances the skin’s pH while imparting necessary moisture stripped away by tap water.

Calithea Cares

Calithea is not just about beauty – it is also about empowering women of all ages. That is why Calithea is collaborating with THORN and made a commitment to fight and stop sex trafficking. For every purchase, $1 will be donated for the cause.

I love coffee. I love it as it is – no fancy syrup, cream, sugar or anything that will lighten and sweeten my daily dose of liquid gold. My passion for coffee extends beyond my cup of joe – I love coffee scented candles, coffee scrubs and lo – coffee soap.

Urbanized is an eco-friendly, all natural skincare company featuring repurposed products. As of now, the only product they have on sale online is the Natural Exfoliating Soap with coffee grounds.

A little flash back, I was wondering for a while now on what Starbucks does with their used coffee grounds. I am sure they have buckets full of used grounds at the end of the day.  I read somewhere that people can ask for it and it will be given for free (really?). Some people use it as fertilizers or animal feeds (hmm?). Anyway, since I am not that bold to ask for free used grounds, even just for the sake of trying, I just let it go and pushed it at the back of my mind.  When I stumbled upon Urbanized website (thanks to Instagram surfing), I learned that I am not the only one thinking about those coffee grounds! Story is, the founders of this company used to work at Starbucks when they were teenagers. The amount of trash (and grounds) they saw definitely made a lasting impression. This inspired them to build a company that aims to repurpose products, thus reducing waste. Well, I am glad that they started with coffee!

I have honestly never tried a coffee inspired soap. Also, I am not a big fan of exfoliating bars because usually, it doesn’t work. Most exfoliating bars scrubs too gently for me – I want something that would really remove my dead skin and polish skin. I have Keratosis Pilaris on both my arms and scrubbing it is really something that I need to do every single day. I am careful about the soaps and lotions that I use on my skin because one wrong product can cause KP flare up.

I approached Urbanized to try and test their soap because I am confident that their product will not cause me to scratch and pick on my KP filled arms after using it. The ingredients of the soap are simple – Saponified Olive, Coconut, Canola, Castor Oil, Cocoa Butter, Vanilla extract and ground Coffee. Everything is natural and most importantly – cruelty free.

Armed with my bar of yummy coffee scented soap, I hopped in the shower and scrubbed away. The coffee scent is very welcoming and energizing especially after a long tiring day from work. The bits of coffee grounds are abrasive enough to scrub and soften my skin. I like this soap scrub because I can feel the grounds. This is not the scrub for wimps. If you want gentle baby scrub, this is not for you. Liking the way it exfoliates, I concentrated more on my arms, hoping that it will help my recently flared up KP. After rinsing, I noticed that my skin felt soft to the touch and looks more polished. My skin also did not feel dry even before applying lotion.

I have been using this soap for about a week now and so far, my KP hasn’t flared up yet. I also noticed that my arms look better and smoother. I am thinking that maybe this is my KP remedy? We’ll see. There is nothing about KP on Urbanized's website. It is just something that I have experienced while using their soap.

All in all, I am in love with this soap. It satisfies my coffee addiction and it helps me to manage my skin condition.
