I am not really into long baths but I definitely love a good long hot shower. Showering is like a ritual to me – I like using products that can invigorate my senses. It makes showering and even bathing more like a ritual rather than just a body cleansing routine. 



Clevos Natura Foresta is hypoallergenic line of hair shampoo that is EWG verified and certified organic by BDIH (international Organis and Natural Cosmetics Corporation) and USDA (US Department of Agriculture). The Aurora line of Challans de Paris is for skin rejuvenation.



Tonique de Aurora

The main ingredient of this toner is Niacinamide which works to visibly improve the look of enlarged pores, fine lines and wrinkles as well as brighten dull looking skin. It also contains Centella Asiatica which is known for its wound healing properties. It is jampacked with other botanical extracts such as primerose, bamboo, aloe, licorice and rosemary.


The packaging of the product is very luxurious. The glass bottle perfectly showcases the light emerald toner inside.


Challans de Paris Essence de Beaute
Complementing the Challans de Tonique de Aurora, this lightweight essence boosts the same ingredients such as niacinamide, centella asiatica and a plethora of botanical extracts.



This light weight essence has as consistency of a very thin facial lotion. It sinks in the skin without leaving a greasy finish. It also adds an additional layer of hydration on the skin.



Challans de Paris Masque de Aurora

Best used after the Challans de Paris Tonique de Aurora, this mask saturates the skin with a clear serum that is formulated with Niacinamide, Hyaluronic Acid, Adenosine and other botanical extracts such as onion, primrose, basil, aloe vera and turmeric. 



The sheet is a little thick but the fit is perfect. It is also very soft and it adherence is very good. I kept the mask on for 20 minutes. It left my skin well hydrated without the tacky finish.

Challans de Paris Lotion Tonique Memoria


This toner contains Niacinamide, a water soluble vitamin that works to visibly improve enlarged pores, fine lines and wrinkles. It also refines dull skin and uneven skin tone.

My skin drinks up this toner like water. One of the things that I like about it is its ability to immediately refresh my skin after cleansing. The cold weather is drying me skin and this toner provides a soothing relief to it.


Challans de Paris Essence de Beaute Memoria


This essence has a consistency of a light weight lotion. It is also scented like the crème (perfume is one of its ingredients) however, the scent is not as strong and definitely more mellow. As an essence, I like that it, it gives an extra boost of moisture into my skin. It also layers well with Challans de Paris Crème.
The only flaw perhaps is the bottle. The essence is not a flowing liquid, hence, it is hard to dispense the product from the heavy glass bottle. It needs to be tapped up-side down several times for the product to come out.

Let me start first with what I live with this crème: it is light weight, it sink in beautifully in my skin and in terms of moisturizing effect, it is perfect. It doesn’t leave my skin feeling greasy and sticky after applying it. It dries to a smooth finish. Now, what I am on the fence with this is the strong scent. It actually smells good – but it is strong and it takes a while to mellow down. So here is the thing – if scents do not bother you then go for it! It is a beautiful moisturizer!

The primary ingredient of this Cleansing Water is of course, water. It is a cleanser that removes all the dirt, grime and make-up on the skin without the need for lathering and rinsing. It’s like a wipe and go! It contains Iceland Moss extracts which soothes the skin as well as improve its elasticity and firmness. It also contains Witch Hazel Extract, Peppermint Leaf Extract, Lemon Grass Extract, Wintergreen Extract and Strawberry Seed Extract.

I am a big fan of double cleansing and a quick route cleansing such as this is a bit awkward for me – but I do see the value of it especially during times when I am in hurry or too lazy to do my 2-step cleansing then this one is the way to go. It effectively removes make-up and it really cleanses the skin. Just to make sure that all residues are removed, I always make a final sweep using a fresh cotton (plus the cleansing water, of course).
This cleanser doesn’t leave my skin feeling dry or tight.

This facial wash contains Niacinamide which controls oil and minimizes the pores. It also has Aloe Vera, for soothing and cooling as well as Burdock Root which restores and gives life to dull looking skin. The main star ingredient is of course the Iceland Moss Extract which is known to soothe skin and reduce inflammation. It is ideal for oily, acne-prone, combination and normal skin. It also addresses oiliness, skin dryness and large pores.

Normally, I would go for a cleanser that doesn’t foam much because it dries my skin. As stated on its name tag, this cleanser really does have foaming action and yes, it did dry my skin. I have combination skin that leans towards dry and most of the time, cleansers such as this strips the moisture off my skin. However, that doesn’t mean that this cleanser is a no-go. Cleansing wise, it does its job. It smells amazing too! Perhaps this cleanser is best for oily skin or acne prone skin.

I am so fascinated with peeling creams and gels. It immediately removes dead skin cells with the pleasure of witnessing it happen right before my eyes. The way peeling creams work is that the ingredients interact with the oil on the skin. For the Iceland Peeling Cream , this ingredient is cellulose. Once the cellulose interacts with the oil, it clumps and serves as little grains which exfoliates and buffs the skin. Visually, it seems like the clumps are the dead skin – but no it is not, however, surely it is covered with all the dead and dry skin it removes.

My skincare journey truly gets better with discovery and new found knowledge about ingredients and products available in the market. I have only started using sleeping mask a little less than a year. It is now one of my must have and must do part of my skincare routine – even on lazy days, I always make sure I put on a sleeping mask as the last step of my routine.


make p:rem Peel Me

Enter make p:rem Peel Me Sleeping pack. I am still in the process of learning what skincare ingredients do to the skin and this is the first time I delve on to Peel Me’s star ingredient - PHA.





What is PHA?

PHA or polyhydroxy acids are chemical exfoliants. It was discovered in the 90’s by Dr. Eugene Van Scott and Dr. Ruey Yu. They are the same people who discovered AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acid) earlier in their career.  It has been around for quite a while but due to patent and rights, not a lot of brands can afford to include this amazing ingredient in their products. Only now after the patent expired can it be readily be available in the mainstream market.

PHA, like any other acids, peels ad exfoliates the skin however; this particular one attracts water molecules which moisturizes the skin thus making it the perfect sealant to a skincare regimen.  PHA also prevents the weakening of the skin’s collagen and elastin. It repairs the surface of the skin making it look plumper and smoother. To top it all, PHA does not make the skin more sensitive to sun exposure. Unlike other acids, PHA makes the skin more tolerant of the sun. Caution though – that doesn’t mean ditching sunscreen!  

PHAs are safe for all types of skin. It can even be used by people with skin conditions such as eczema and rosacea. It is also an alternative to those who are sensitive to AHA.

Now, back to make p:rem Peel Me.



Similar to most sleeping packs, Peel Me is in a gel form but very lightweight and almost like water. It contains parfum, hence the light scent that is similar to alcohol. I apply it as the last step of my routine to seal off all the other products.

Peel Me is good to use one year after opening it. 

This exfoliant is not like the old-school peeling product where in your face literally peel-off and turn bright red. This works while you sleep. All the magic is done gently without any adverse effects.



What I love about this sleeping mask is the way it locks in moisture. This is very noticeable in morning after I wash my face. I noticed that my skin looks more vibrant and softer to the touch. I also noticed a more even skin tone.  My sunspots are lighter and the skin looks brighter.
