Boxy Charm is a monthly beauty subscription service. It features 4-5 full sized products. The cost of subscription is $21 and that already includes shipping. The value of the entire box is more than triple the amount of the subscription.  Brands included are more on the higher scale making this box one of the most inexpensive way to try fancy cosmetics and skincare items.

The theme this month is Galaxy Glow.

Here the items this month

Here's a closer look of the goodies:

Crown Brush Pro
Trio Brush Set
Retail: $29.99

This three-set brush is the perfect spring must have! The pink and white color combination reminds me of Easter.

OFRA Cosmetics
Pop-Up Palette Mini and Godet Refill
Retail: $19 for the Palette  $12 for the Godet

This palette is magnetic and can hold a few cosmetic essentials. It is perfect for travelling and quick touch-ups.  You no longer have to fill your bag with individual palettes for blush, shadow and powder - it can all be placed in this reliable make-you-own palette. It's like creating your own customized palette! How awesome is that?

PUR
X- Faux Lips Plumping Lip Exfoliator
Retail: $17

Contains shea butter, raw sugar and exfoliating beads. It exfoliates, hydrates, softens and plumps lips!

Cover FX
Shimmer Veil
Retail: $28

This creamy shimmer can be used as eye shadow or highlighter. It's crease-proof and weightless.

Vintage Cosmetics
Smokey Eye Pencil
Retail: $21

Highly pigmented eye pencil, perfect for making the boldest and dramatic look. It has a creamy formula that is easy to smudge. It also glides on lids without pulling or tugging.

All in all the total value of this month's Boxycharm is $126.99! Great value considering the cost of the box. My favorite item in the box is the Vintage eyeliner, PUR lip scrub and the brushes (of course).  The (almost) empty Ofra palette is not really for me, I do not own tons of godet but I like the idea of creating your own palette.

MishiBox is a Korean beauty monthly subscription box.

It offers a combination of 4-6 deluxe and full-sized Korean beauty products each month. Subscription is $19.95 per month with free shipping.  They also offer an annual subscription rate of $239.40. This is the easiest and most affordable way to try and test Korean beauty brands.

Each box contains a card describing all the items in the box.  It also gives the instructions on  how to use the products.  This is very helpful since most labels and how to's are written in Korean.

Here's a closer look of the items:

Double & Zero
Double Care Solution Black Mask
Retail: $3
Full Size

This mask contains bamboo charcoal which absorbs dirt. It also has Bulgarian Rose extract which brightens the skin.

Petitfee
Dry Essence Foot Mask
Retail: $4
Full Size

This foot mask contains dry essence which is already infused with the cloth - hence no slippery and wet feel during treatment.

Purito
Cantella Green Level All In One Mild Pad
Travel Size
Value: $1

This on-the-go trial size is perfect for removing remaining make-up that is not removed by cleanser alone. It contains Cantella Asiatica extract which gently exfoliate the skin as well as decrease inflammation.

Medilab
Black Rose Ampoule
Deluxe Sample Size
Value: $14???
(That is according to Mishibox Product Card)

Contains 64% Damask Rose Water. It brightens, improves and even out the skin's texture. Notable ingredients includes: Rose Oil, Argan Oil and Camelia Oil.

I tried this ampoule already and it is really good. It is slightly scented.  Unfortunately, the price is a bit steep for me - if a small size like this is already $14 then I wonder how  much a full size would cost? Oh well.

Beauskin
Crystal Lipstick
Retail: $12
Full Size

Highly pigmented lipstick. It is also very moisturizing on the lips. It did not dry my lips at all.

Choonee
Water-Peak Moisture Gel
Retail: $12
Full Size

This is the perfect summer moisturizer because it is not heavy on the skin. It is very refreshing and hydrating without leaving the skin oily. It also contains hyaluronic acid.

The value of this month's Mishibox is $46 - but the selection is not that amazing. The only thing that I like in the box is the Medilab ampoule and unfortunately it came in a trial size. The masks are ok but the value it pitches in the box doesn't make a dent. I like the lipstick from Beauskin simply because  the color I received suits me (and definitely not red or pink like always).

What I noticed about Mishibox is that the monthly boxes are either a hit or a miss. It is not consistent in terms of value or curation.

Nudu
Natural Beauty

“We’re nude and proud
-        Nudu

Nudu is full skincare line that has premium botanical ingredients which aims in protecting the skin from cellular damage caused by free radicals. Nudu products are free from all the bad stuff - no parabens, no detergents SLS or SLES, no benzyl alcohol, no phenoxyethanol, no nanoparticles, no peroxides, no PEG, no harsh preservatives, no silicon, no synthetic perfumes, and no artificial colors. It is GMO-free and it is never ever tested on animals.

What I love about Nudu, aside of course from its amazing clean ingredients is the packaging. The bottles are specially made to prevent bacteria from going in and mixing with the products.

Nudu offers a three-tier approach to skincare: Purify, Balance and Glow. It is very basic but it encompass the most essential parts of a simple yet effective skincare regimen.

Cleanse

Nudu Cleansing Exfoliating Sponge

This sponge is made of 100% organic konjac vegetable. I love using this sponge because it is dense, smooth yet very effective in terms of gently exfoliating the skins as well as deeply cleansing the pores.  I think that this is one of the safest ways to exfoliate because it does not result to the skin having micro lacerations.

Nudu Cream Cleanser

This cleanser is heaven! It is rich and it cleanses the skin well without stripping it off its essential moisture.  It leaves the skin feeling fresh, clean and very soft. Notable and unique ingredients include pineapple (for removing dead skin cells), papaya fruit extract, Pomegrante extract (for anti-aging effects), Almond oil and Jojoba.

I have used this together with the Nudu Konjac Sponge and it was truly a divine spa experience.  It’s like getting a facial massage – very calming and relaxing!

Balance

Nudu Reviving Toner

This toner matches the natural pH of the skin and works well with all skin types. It moisturizes the skin at an intercellular level and regenerates the skin as well.

Notable ingredients include Oa Kernel extract, Manuka Honey, Aloe Vera, Pohutakawa extract, Witch Hazel and Coconut Oil.

After using this toner, my skin feels more hydrated and supple. It also preps my skin for a much better absorption of the moisturizer.

Glow

Nudu Eye Cream

This eye cream contains Camellia Seed Oil, Jojoba Oil, Evening Primrose, Hyaluronic Acid, Acai Fruit Extract, several berry extracts such as Blackberry, Cranberry, Strawberry, Bilberry and Raspberry. It is jam packed with tons of vitamins and minerals which nourishes the skin around the eye area. It also has antioxidants and anti-aging properties which are necessary to keep the eye area looking fresh and young.

Overnight Radiance Renew Cream

I love night creams because it makes the skin looking its best the next day. A good night cream will not make the skin oily the following morning. This night cream is divine – it contains Daffodil active plant cells and licorice root extract which reduces the appearance of dark spots. Aside from this, it also has Damas Rose which firms and improves the appearance of wrinkles. Noted ingredients include Aloe Vera, Hyaluronic Acid, Olive Squalene, Avocado Oil, Mango Butter and Shea Butter – all of which gives the skin its much need moisture.

I have a slightly dry skin. Once I apply the Overnight Radiance Renew Cream, my skin feels as if it drank a gallon of water. It no longer feels parched; instead, it feels renewed and hydrated.

 Nudu Gentle Moisturizer

This beautiful moisturizer has Peach, Camellia and Kiwi oils which soften the skin. It also contains Sesame Protein which improves wrinkles. Green Coffee and white tea extract works as antioxidants. Other ingredients include Hyaluronic Acid and Jojoba Oil.

This moisturizer is non-greasy and it works well as a base for foundation and make up. I love that it leaves the skin bright and looking fresh. It also does not leave the skin feeling oily in the middle of the day.

A gift from Nudu
Value of $38
Silk Eye Mask made of 100% Mulberry silk.

The Nudu Natural Beauty skincare line truly is amazing. It may be leaning towards the high end line but it is well worth the cost. Visit Nudu at www.nudu.com. They have excellent customer service and they stand behind the efficacy of their products.

I have been seeing Indie Beauty Expo all over Instagram the past year. I noticed that there are tons of unique products that became part of this expo. I have decided to attend this year and see what the fuss is about.

Marie Natie natural cosmetics line

The indie Beauty Expo is a two day event that is split in two – the Shop Indie, which is open to the public and the Trade Indie which is reserved for industry professionals, buyers and press.
Indie brands are small players in the beauty and skincare industry.

Baublerella

It is IBE’s goal to give these amazing brands a platform for their products to become more visible in the market. It also gives them an opportunity to reach their niche market and create potential future following.

Girl Skincare from New Zealand

Aside from being a small brand, most products in the IBE are leaning towards the natural and organic line. There were a lot of essential oils and blends, naturally formulated products as well as organic and cruelty free skincare/cosmetic lines.

 Cura Skincare

Secret Service tools - features snarky comments in tweezers and bags

Small samples courtesy of Lumene - one of the few brands who gave samples during the event.

Unlike other beauty events, IBE is more on selling rather than brand experience. Samples were minimal – actually almost close to nothing. Only a few gave out samples – and I mean ‘samples” – sachets and decanted tiny bottles. This is not the place to rack full sized freebies however; you may opt to purchase a VIP ticket and with it includes a huge bag of goodies. The VIP swagbag is definitely well worth the price because most of the items in are full sized.

Here are the goodies in my bag:

Smaller contents of the bag - not everyone gave a full size item, nevertheless, these are good sample sized items.

Masks and oils were popular during the show. Here are some of the brands who threw in a mask in the VIP bag.

Full size fun! Super generous brands includes Pur-lisse, No BS, Ogee, Moa, Lua, Schmidts and more!

Some more full sized goodies! The Joon Saffrom Hair elixir alone is equivalent to the amount I paid for the VIP ticket! The Wine Wipes full size box is awesome too!

I did not purchase much from this event but I did score some small freebies:

All in all, the Indie Beauty Expo is a nice event to discover new things in health and beauty.  I will definitely go back next year!
